With the growing need for quality healthcare services, Jefferson County is fortunate to have WVU Medicine's Jefferson Medical Center located in the heart of Ranson. Jefferson Medical Center currently has 45 beds with 32 full-time and 33 part-time physicians. Their services include a 24-Hour Emergency Room, Level 4-trauma center, CT Scanner, MRI Service, Ultramodern Lab Facility, Home Health Service, Intensive/Critical Care Unit and Neurodiagnostic Laboratory.

Residents also have access to walk-in care for those in need of urgent but non-emergent medical attention at Valley Health Urgent Care, Jefferson Urgent Care, and WVU Medicine Urgent Care

In addition, our region has many other healthcare providers, including 12 dentists and 5 chiropractors. The county is served by Panhandle Home Health for home healthcare services. These healthcare facilities provide thousands of valuable employment opportunities.
