Support Letters
Ranson and Charles Town obtained the support from the two-dozen entities involved in the Council by making collaboration the cornerstone of the project from the beginning. The community knows that community involvement, project transparency, and multi-stakeholder participation is the best approach for overcoming barriers, building momentum, raising funds, and attracting investors and redevelopers.
The list of partners are not mere outside observers, but real participants:organizations like CORE have adopted the Corridor as a central mission; the NAACP has been the sparkplug for blight removal and parks/recreation development in the Corridor; the WV regional economic development district has made the Corridor a top priority in its comprehensive economic development strategy; the MPO has included the Corridor transportation infrastructure as a top regional priority; the American Public University is building an entire campus in and around the Corridor; the Northern WV Brownfields Assistance Center has made the Corridor one of its pioneering efforts; the Boys & Girls Club has located on a Corridor brownfield; the Charles Town Parks & Recreation Commission has focused its park planning in the Corridor, and so on.
