Ranson is governed by a seven member City Council elected by the citizens of Ranson.  The members each serve four-year terms.  The Council consists of the Mayor, Recorder, two at-large members and three ward council members. 

The City Council meets every first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Ranson City Hall to conduct business.  Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate.
