The Planning Commission comprises five members who undertake long-range visioning for the development of the City of Ranson. The Commission oversees the processes of:

• Site Plans
• Large-scale development
• Subdivisions
• Land use
• Rezoning
• Zoning Ordinance amendments
• Stormwater management
• Maps (parcels, streets, zoning districts, floodplains, school zones, capital projects, etc.)
• Interpretation of City of Ranson's Zoning Ordinance

Those who serve on the Planning Commission give of their time freely and serve without compensation. The Planning Commission meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at Ranson City Hall.  Meeting dates and deadlines for application submissions can be viewed here.
